BOSSMOM NATION: Sovanny Vu

Say hello to Sovanny, one of the newest additions to our BOSSMOM Nation! I'm excited to introduce yet another inspiring mama to our community. She captured my attention with her fun playful photos of her and her daughter as well as her laid back unique style.  She's a creative...a businesswoman, and most importantly a BOSSMOM. Read on about Sovanny's thoughts on motherhood and it's personal impact on her life.

A short five years ago, if you asked me whether I thought of starting my own business, I would've said no. Two kids later I am more inspired than ever to turn my dreams into a reality and take control of my life. You see for me being a BOSSMOM meant putting my kids first and being someone that they could both look up to. I am sure that this is something that every mother can resonate with.

After having my eldest daughter Madison (now 3), I was inspired to begin style blogging which then led to my vintage clothing business - Mode Madison. There's certainly a lot of work to do, but being your own boss means you can look after your kids and get to the working when you have a chance, be it at 1 am. I'm also often found breastfeeding while working on the computer. On the flip side, we get to spend a heap of time together, I sneak in day naps with them, head out and about at any time of the day and just live life.

Motherhood has definitely been an adjustment for me. The challenges of juggling time with the kids along with my business and everything else around the house is real. I have improved on the balancing act though and I've learnt over time that my girls love nothing more than just quality time with me. My time with them trumps all the toys, treats and clothes I can give them.
