I'm a California girl. Yes, born and raised. I moved away to Atlanta, GA at 17 for college with ambition and dreams that changed more than the seasons!
Love and marriage came quickly. Kids did too! Hence the whole BOSSMOM thing! A million miles away back in California, my childhood bestie and now business partner was doing the same thing! Our collaboration for business was inevitable. We had successfully operated this business for several years on two different coast and in this social friendly world, sharing our life and babes through photos is the thing to do! Yet sadly, we haven't had one opportunity to have us and our children all together for a photo op. Well, at least a picture-perfect-all-dressed-up-nonchalant-this-is-just-what-we-do-daily photo op!
The idea that our predestined-baby-besties would not be able to grow up together like we did was already a horror but the idea of missing out on random family picture moments was just plain sad.
Until one day I lugged my babes, Justice and Amirah, out to California and we roamed around San Francisco with the very pregnant Shah and her two little ones, Saniyah and Khayri.
The purpose of the day was to get some shots for the new site (work for the mommies) and let the kids enjoy each other's company (play for the babes). For all the mommy bloggers and brands, we know how hard this can be to pull off and look effortless. I don't care how much energy a child has, attitudes and full out wars can happen in the blink of an eye! And getting everyone to pose for a picture...forget about it!
If you follow Shah on IG then you will know that her babe Saniyah is basically a GAP model in the making. She's always composed and ready. Our two youngest, Amirah (mines) and Kharyi (Shah's), could really care less about a photo op! Amirah even runs out of the picture before we get a final perfect shot!
Through all the fuss, Shah and I never stop holding hands!
We managed to get a lot done. It may not have been perfect but it was real and we like real! By the end of it all, the kids were ecstatic to finally finish...and it shows!
I see tons of cute family pictures on my timelines and blogs. Is this you or do you know this person? How hard is it to achieve this picture perfect moment?
